According to Android Advices, the new update has been rolled out in India, while the Motorola official blog shows an entry detailing their Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update plans for the Moto E and Moto Maxx in Mexico, Brazil and India.
The Moto E Lollipop update measures around 342MB in size and hence requires at least 500MB free storage space for installation.
Given its massive download size, the OTA update should be installed using a Wi-Fi connection on your Moto E smartphone, just to ensure that you do not end up paying expensive data charges.
It is advisable to free up some space on your internal storage by moving your personal data and apps to the SD card, before installing the Lollipop update.
The new Android 5.0.2 update comes with loads of exciting features including the material design changes, improved notifications, new interruption and downtime settings, redesigned multitasking UI, changes to ambient display, updated Motorola Assist, Smart Lock, performance enhancements, and improved battery performance.
As the update is being rolled out in phases, it may not yet be available in all the countries across the world right now.
However, the update should be gradually pushed out to all Moto E devices starting with Brazil and India, which will be done by the end of February.
Those who missed the official OTA update notification for Moto E or cannot find the update for some reason can try checking for the update manually by going to Menu > Settings > About Phone and then clicking on the Check for Updates button under the System Updates section.
